January 19, 2014         God  Plays for Keeps.         I Corinthians 1:1-9
By Ronald E.  George Jr. at the Fayetteville Baptist Church

Have you ever played marbles for funsies or have you ever played for keeps?  God plays for keeps.  He is serious about you.  He will do whatever is necessary to insure your success.  Join Him in the journey of life forever.

I  Corinthians 1:1      Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,  2 To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours: 3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ  4 I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. 5 For in him you have been enriched in every way—in all your speaking and in all your knowledge— 6 because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you. 7 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. 8 He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.
How can we make it as a Christian?  What is God doing to make sure we make it.

  1. God calls us and wants us in his church.
  2. The church is the called out ones who are sanctified to be His message.
  3. To all those everywhere who are called.  We are called  together to be holy.
  4. Grace and peace are to you  from the One who can give all things.
  5. I am thankful for you who participate in His Work.  Without you the rocks would cry out.
  6. You are rich because He became poor.  We are rich in all our lives .
  7. God’s Word is confirmed in you.  We are the message.  God is speaking through us.
  8. God gives the spiritual gifts we need to be successful which is to be faithful.
  9. God will keep you strong to the end.  He plays for keeps.
  10. God will keep you blameless by giving you what you need.
  11. God has called us to share in the life of Christ.
  12. God is faithful through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Continue to hear and answer His call to be rich in all we need to be His message.
