January 12, 2014   My Tribute of Praise.    Psalm 29
By Ronald E. George Jr. at the Fayetteville Baptist Church

Will we praise the Lord?  What  will be our tribute of praise to Him?  How will we praise the Lord in this brand new year?  Why will we praise Him?

Psalm 29: A psalm of David.
1 Ascribe to the Lord, O mighty ones, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of hisa holiness.
3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic
5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, Sirionb like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert; the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaksc and strips the forests bare.  And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”
10 The Lord sitsd enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever.
11 The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

What will our tribute be to our Maker?

  1. I have seen the Lord.  I have seen the glory and strength of the one true living God.
  2. His name is wonderful.  I will take His name and be known as He is.  As a Christian.
  3. I will worship the Lord.  I will see the splendor and holiness of the Lord.
  4. The power of the Lord’s voice sounds like thunder.  He moves the unshakeable.
  5. His voice has an effect on the earth.  His voice is powerful and majestic.
  6. His voice twists the oaks and make the deserts bare.  Lays bare our soul.
  7. He breaks down our defenses and shows us that He is God.  Do we know Him?
  8. His voice lights up the world and shows the truth in the Light of His Word.
  9. His people will call out on His name.
  10. His throne is over all as He rules supreme.  He is King forever.
  11. His people are blessed with His strength and with peace.
  12. He is in control and in Him we trust.

Will we call on the name of the Lord and ask for His peace for this New Year?
