November 11, 2012       Contending with the enemy …     Pslam 127
Are we at war?  How can we be victorious in the battle?

by Ronald George the Fayetteville Baptist church

Psalm 127  A song of ascents. Of Solomon.   1 Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. 2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep toa those he loves. 3 Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

  1. Depend on God to build and maintain your house, community, state, and country.
  2. Don’t labor in vain.  Go With God!
  3. Ask God to watch over our house, city, county, and country.
  4. Are you ready for battle?  Who are our enemies?
  5. Be spiritually prepared.
  6. Watch.  (watchmen stand guard)
  7. Rise early,
  8. stay up late,
  9. do the work for the food you eat,
  10. Sleep (rest up and get ready to battle.)
  11. Children are a blessing and a heritage,
  12. Children are a reward.  Live on through them.
  13. Blessed is the man  whose quiver is full of them.
  14. They will not be put to shame.  (they will win)
  15. They will contend with the enemy.
  16. They will win.
